Last week on a Friday evening I decided to visit my grand father’s friend who is now bed ridden because of his health condition. I t was a 40 minutes walk from my place but as I was already tired I looked for an auto but no luck. I started walking to his place and in few minutes his thoughts occupied my mind. He was an energetic and positive person with a broad, warm smile. As a child, I have seen him always hard working and high on energy. Do I have the courage to see him like this? No!! I reached his place knocked the door, his daughter opened the door and led me to his room. I gathered some courage and entered the room, he was sitting on a wheel chair just next to the window. He looked at me and smiled, the same warm smile. I sat next to him on a chair and we started talking. Our conversation was interrupted by tea offered by his daughter. While I was sipping tea he started talking and I was listening. He told me that every other day his daughter takes him to nearby park before sunset and how happy it makes him to see people, nature, sunset, birds and come back. I can see the true excitement and happiness in his eyes while saying this. He didn’t complain about not being able to walk or anything about his health. All the while he was speaking about positive things of life and how happy he actually is. He is the same energetic and happy person. It was time for him to take medicines and sleep so I said bye to both of them and left the place. I was having a big smile on my face. I was walking my way back home without looking for an auto. I was enjoying the walk. The same road felt different. I heard the birds sing, flowers smile. Everything was beautiful, nature, people, roads, birds, flowers, EVERYTHING!!
Isn’t it beautiful to be alive?? Do we need any special reasons to be happy??
This is what is meant by “being alive”. Good one dear☺️☺️
